Qualifications: Design
Technologist Diploma/Mechanical Engineering Degree and experience in the
design of machinery and components. Preference given to individuals with SAW MILL
experience, experience with CAD software (CADRA or AUTOCAD) is required.

Mechanical Service Representative
On site customer
support for new equipment installations and routine service trips.
Qualifications: Millwright or similar training in a sawmill
environment, ability to provide training to mill personnel on maintenance and
proper use of equipment, familiarity with sharp chain systems, spline guiding
systems, hydraulic pneumatics and process manufacturing.

Technologist (Electronics)
Qualifications: Diploma in Electronics engineering or
equivalent experience. Minimum one to three years experience.
Requirements: Successful candidate would be required to do
board level engineering/design/assembly and troubleshooting. Training and
experience in the following areas are assets: Embedded Micro controller
design and programming (Microchip, Analog devices, Siemens). Autocad/Borland
C++ builder/NT 4.0 environment/Win32 API, Win95 minimum/Microsoft Office 97,
Customer telephone support.

Industrial Controls Engineer or Technologist
Qualifications: Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or
equivalent experience. Minimum one to three years experience in the sawmill
industry.
Requirements: Successful candidate would be required to manage
projects from electrical design layout to configuring and programming in the
real-time machine control environment. Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC 5
series programmable logic controllers would be an asset. Training and
experience in the following areas are assets: AutoCAD/Visual Basic 6.0/NT 4.0
Environment, Win95 minimum/Microsoft Office 97/Programmable Logic
Controllers/Human Machine Interface Software (Wonderware, RSView), Customer
telephone support.

CNC Operators
Optimil currently
has 4 CNC vertical milling centres, 3 CNC turning centres which operate on
the GIBBS and SmartCAM programs. We are looking for a programmer, who has
exceptional experience in programming CNC milling centres. We offer
competitive rates in a non-union environment.

Machinists
Our machine
shop includes Horizontal Boring Mills, Vertical Boring Mills, Lathes, Mills
and Drills. Optimil requires individuals with precision machining
experience.
Fabricators
Optimil
requires metal fabricators with experience in light metal and/or heavy metal
steel fabrication. Preference will be given to individuals with
"JOURNEYMAN" certification.
Machine Fitters
Optimil
requires millrights and machine fitters to perform assembly of our sawmill
equipment. Preference will be given to individual with "JOURNEYMAN"
certification.
Apprenticeship
Optimil
participates in the apprenticeship programs for each of our departments and
grants "JOURNEYMAN" certificates to all employees who complete the
required training and school course work.
